Same Soil/Solid Ground - a painting installation
Shared Soil/Solid Ground (2025) consists of twelve 'tree portraits' that together form the image of a forest. This installation refers to a forest close to where Roeper grew up, the common ground in which both the artist and these trees are rooted. This place has been a constant presence throughout her life, offering a solid foundation to return to.
The portraits present the trees as both individuals and as part of a larger whole. They reflect the continuity of a landscape that embodies personal history, where change and permanence quietly coincide.
